Inside the arena, before the first episode of AWF is about to air, a few of the roadies are unloading a truck.
Roadie Jim: "Man, I love this life. Just town to town, hauling this and pushing that. It's the best."
Roadie Dave: "Man, I've been doing this for 30 years and I'm tired of runnin' down the road."
Just then, the power goes out inside the loading area. A chill flows through the air and Jim and Dave look around worried. A camera-man who was filming backstage, drops his camera and runs. We see a large dark figure walk up and pick up the camera.
Dark Figure: "The Americas have always been kind to ol' Davey Jones... Tonight this federation of wrestlers, of heroes and scallywags, of men and of mice, pay witness to a being beyond all that has been seen in a thousand years.
Fire will be drowned, dreams will be crushed under the weight of a mighty ocean. And men will be splintered like ships are by cannon-fire. Long enough have I stayed in hiding. Long enough have I ruled the deep with an iron claw. Now I rule the surface world. And it begins here, where I WILL be champion... Of this world.
And to any of ye who stands in my way? Leave if you value your soul!
