The scene opens up to a man sitting alone in a dimly lit spot. You can see a ring off in the background with weights and other machines scattered across the room. He’s sitting on the edge of the ring with his legs hanging off the side. As we get closer, his face appears and a smirk comes across his face.
“The American Wrestling Federation. Isn’t that such a grand name for such a promotion? It’s a shame when you think back across the true GREAT wrestlers of the last 25 years that only a handle full of “Americans” come to mind. I am not talking about your beer swigging, trash talking, and hardcore guys that you “Americans” cheer for and call heroes. No, I am talking about the true mat technicians, the guys who could slap a submission hold faster than you can even say the name of the hold. When I think of those guys, I think about Canadians, the true greats of the sport but when we come here to the “Home of Free” who are ruled by their 9-5 jobs and trillions of dollars of debt, we are pushed off to the side because we won’t say what you want to hear, we won’t do what you want us to do. We are pushed to back and never heard from again.”
The man smirks again as he swings his feet lightly back and forth.
“Never allowed to truly show what we are capable of. We become ring set-up crews, announcers, and I even hate to say it but referees. That is what the older generation had to deal with. The New Generation of Canadian professional wrestlers is coming to America and you’re looking at the head of the charge. My name is Gage Martin and I am the last product of the famed dungeon in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I have been trained by the best in the ring and on the microphone . I have wrestled in the old Stampede Arena in Downtown Calgary and wrestled inside the Artic Circle. I’ve held every belt from Vancouver to New Foundland. It’s time the big dog left his old back yard in the Great North and make his way South to a land that has never been dominated by a man from Canada. The “American” Wrestling Federation is being put on notice. Notice that what’s American about it isn’t going to last much longer. The AWF is soon going to be calling a Canadian their champion and the children of your fine nation will finely have a respectable man to look up to. They’ll finally have a man who can actually wrestle and can break bones in your body with just a twist of the wrist. They’ll finally have a man they can be proud of to be champion because unlike you lousy “Americans” I am a real man, a real Canadian man. Unlike my predecessors from the past, I won’t be suckered into gimmicks. I won’t be forced to the back, I won’t be held down.”
As he finishes his words, he turns and walks into the dark part of the dungeon and the scene fades black.
